ENERGY STAR® Light Emitting Diode (LED) Decorative Light Strings

LED Holiday Lighting

ENERGY STAR LED decorative light strings are a new energy-efficient lighting technology that will save you money during the holiday season, making them ideal for decorating your home or business. Virtually indestructible, ENERGY STAR LED decorative light strings will last up to ten times longer than standard holiday lighting strings and reduce the risk of fire in your home. LED decorative light strings stay lit even if a bulb burns out. Imagine never having to search for burnt out bulbs again!

ENERGY STAR LED decorative light strings are constructed from solid-state chips that convert electricity into light without using a filament or glass bulb. LED candles are another excellent holiday lighting option. LED candles emulate the flicker of a real candle, without the potential problems related to smoke, dripping wax, and fire hazard, because there is no actual flame.

Fiber Optic Lighting

Fiber Optic Holiday Tree

Fiber optic lighting uses fiber optic cables to carry light to the point of illumination. Multiple light points are illuminated from a single lamp source, making fiber optic lighting very economical and energy efficient. Fiber optic cables permit lighting access to locations that may otherwise be difficult to light and where lamp maintenance might be problematic, such as paths, trees, decks, patios and vaulted ceilings. Fiber optic lights are cool to the touch, as only light, not heat, is transmitted from the fiber.

Fiber optic trees offer an energy-efficient alternative for holiday decorations. They typically use a single bulb (ranging from 5 to 20 watts) that transmits light through a fiber optic cable containing hundreds of tiny fibers. A rotating color wheel is frequently combined with the bulb to change the colors emitted from the fibers. Since the fiber optic trees use only one bulb, they will save you a lot of money compared to lighting a traditional tree.

ENERGY STAR® Candelabra Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs)

Candelabra Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs)

Great for candlesticks and menorahs, ENERGY STAR candelabra CFLs are available in a variety of styles and wattages, each using a small E12 candelabra base. ENERGY STAR candelabra CFLs use 75% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs while producing the same lumens. With a typical 8,000-hour life, candelabras generally last 10 times longer than the average incandescent bulb.

Rope Lights

Rope Light

Rope lights are comprised of miniature incandescent lights spaced about 1” apart and enclosed in ½” diameter flexible plastic tubing. The tiny bulbs use approximately 0.5 watts of power per foot, and are rated to last over 20,000 hours. Available in multiple colors, rope lights are suitable for indoor and outdoor use and are ideal for decorating trees or for outlining doors and windows.

Use a timer or programmable thermostat on your air conditioner.

Only wash and dry full loads of laundry.
