Room Air Cleaners

ENERGY STAR® qualified room air cleaners use less energy to remove particles, such as dust and pollen from indoor air. They allow you to breathe cleaner air while saving you up to $150 over the air cleaner’s life-time.

Facts & Product Knowledge:

  • ENERGY STAR room air cleaners are 35% more energy efficient than standard models.
  • To qualify for the ENERGY STAR designation, room air cleaners must produce a minimum Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 50 for dust. CADR is a measure of the amount of contaminant-free air delivered by the room air cleaner.
  • There are additional advantages in specific models, such as: remote control settings, timers and adjustable vents.

Tips:

  • Doors and windows to the space being cleaned should be closed while the unit is running. This will ensure that the space is cleaned as efficiently as possible.
  • Unplug your room air cleaner when not in use or plug it into a basic power strip to shut it off with the flip of a switch. Or use advanced power strips, they come in various sizes, styles, and with many applications to suit your needs, such as: timers and motion sensors.
  • Make sure you buy the appropriate size room air cleaner to complement to size of the space being cleaned. You compromise the efficiency of the model if you use the incorrect model size.
