The New York Energy $mart^SM Products Program is a New York Energy $mart^SM initiative developed to increase consumer awareness and preference for energy-efficient products.

How Does it Work?

The New York Energy $mart^SM Products Program is designed to create a sustainable increase in market share of ENERGY STAR® qualified products and other energy-efficient lighting products, and to build showroom traffic.

The Program is both supply-sector and customer-oriented, positioning ENERGY STAR® as a value-added service. It is supported by Field Representatives who provide training, deliver promotional materials and program information to retail partners, and facilitate relationships between manufacturers, distributors and retail partners.

The Program is funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and is available to residents of the New York Energy $mart^SM territory. The territory is defined as New York electricity distribution customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., New York State Electric & Gas Corporation, National Grid, Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc., and Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation.
