Con Edison Gas Energy Efficiency Program

The Program is funded by Con Edison under an agreement with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to expand the delivery of natural gas efficiency services to low-income natural gas customers of Con Edison.

What this Program Offers

Expanded energy efficiency services for low-income Con Edison gas customers, including cost-effective natural gas usage reduction measures:

  • Improving insulation
  • Heating system upgrades
  • Air sealing
  • Conversions from electric to gas clothes dryers and water heaters

Cost-effective electric reduction measures are also included.

Who is Eligible

Current Con Edison natural gas customers residing in 1-to-4 family homes with household income below 60% of state median (i.e., HEAP-eligible) are eligible.

How to Apply

Referrals will be accepted from local Offices for the Aging/DFTA, HRA/DSS offices and Weatherization Assistance Program providers in Con Edison Gas Service territory. Customers may contact the Program Implementer, Honeywell International, directly to request an Energy Services Application.

What is the Cost

There is no cost to the customer. In rental situations, certain measures that directly benefit the eligible tenant will be offered without a landlord contribution.

How are Services Determined

Customers must complete and return an Energy Services Application. Energy efficiency services are prioritized based on the potential for cost-effective natural gas usage reduction.
